Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Abdul-Malik al-Mikhlafi and US Secretary of State Stuart Jones the Iranian interventions in Yemen as well as the United States support to the legitimate government to restore the state and ensure security, stability, sovereignty and unity of Yemen.
They also discussed mutual cooperation between Yemen and the United States.
Al-Mikhlafi highly valued humanitarian assistance provided by the United States to Yemenis and its political support to Yemen’s legitimate government.
He made clear that the Houthi-Saleh militias still continue their aggressions against Yemenis, besiege cities, fire missiles on Saudi cities and threaten the international navigation.
The deputy premier asserted that the Yemeni government still supports efforts of the United Nations and its special envoy Esmail Ould Cheikh Ahmed to reach peace and terminate the suffering of Yemenis in accordance with the three terms of references.
For his part, Jones reiterated that the US Administration will continue supporting Yemen’s legitimate government, reject the Iranian interventions in Yemen and aggressions made by the Houthi-Saleh militias against Yemenis and firing missiles on Saudi cities.
In the meeting attended by officials from both sides, Jones highly appreciated efforts exerted by the Yemeni government in fighting terrorism, emphasizing that the cooperation in combatting terrorism will go on.
