\nThe Ambassador of Yemen to China, Dr. Mohammed Al-Maitami, met with China’s Director-General of West Asian and North African Affairs, Chen Weiqing, in Beijing to discuss Yemen’s current political and security situation.<\/p>\n
The talks focused on regional and international efforts to support the peace process, enhance security and stability, and restore Yemeni state institutions.<\/p>\n
Al-Maitami briefed Chen on recent developments in Yemen, including unilateral actions by the Southern Transitional Council that undermine peace efforts and national unity.<\/p>\n
The Yemeni government, led by President Dr. Rashad al-Alimi, reaffirmed its commitment to de-escalation and called for military forces to withdraw from Hadramawt and al-Mahra governorates.<\/p>\n
