She stressed that attacks on ports, critical infrastructure, and trade routes underscore the danger posed by the militias\u2019 continued threats to the resources of the Yemeni people, regional security and stability and international maritime routes.<\/p>\n<p>She noted that the attack on Mocha Port follows the latest wave of escalation by the Iran-backed Houthi terrorist militias, including attacks against the armed forces in Marib and Hadramout, displacement camps and civilian sites in Marib Governorate, as well as attacks extending into the territory of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.<\/p>\n<p>The Minister underscored the importance of supporting the government and state institutions and enabling them to fulfil their responsibilities in protecting Yemen\u2019s territory, territorial waters, vital facilities and the interests of its citizens.<\/p>\n<p>She also praised the Yemeni-U.S. partnership and ongoing cooperation between the two countries in addressing security challenges and combating terrorism and smuggling, stressing the importance of continued coordination to strengthen security and stability in Yemen and the region and safeguard international maritime routes.<\/p>\n<p>Minister Al-Zouba also congratulated Neil Hop on his appointment as Charg\u00e9 d\u2019Affaires of the U.S. Embassy to Yemen and wished him success in his duties.<\/p>\n<p>For his part, the U.S. Embassy Charg\u00e9 d\u2019Affaires reiterated his country\u2019s condemnation of the Houthi attacks, stressing that the cowardly attacks carried out by the Iran-backed Houthis represent a continuation of their terrorism against the Yemeni people.<\/p>\n<p>Hop also reaffirmed U.S. support for the Yemeni government and Washington\u2019s commitment to continued coordination and cooperation with it in ways that contribute to strengthening security and stability in Yemen and the region and confronting threats to international navigation.<\/p>\n<p>He also congratulated Minister Al-Zouba on her appointment as Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriate and wished her success in her duties.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Riyadh Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriate Dr. Afrah Al-Zouba met today with U.S. Mission to Yemen Charg\u00e9 d&#8217;Affaires Neil Hop, to discuss the latest developments in Yemen and the region, bilateral relations between the two friendly countries, and ways to strengthen cooperation and coordination on issues of mutual interest.
