She stressed that the government remains committed to fulfilling its constitutional responsibility to restore state institutions, extend its authority across the country, and prevent Yemeni territory from being turned into a platform for threatening neighbouring countries, maritime routes and international trade.

She stressed that the continued Houthi escalation, backed by the Iranian regime, demonstrates that a sustainable approach to addressing the sources of these threats begins with strengthening the capacity of the Yemeni state and halting the flow of weapons, technology and expertise to the militias, thereby enhancing the security of Yemen, the region and international maritime routes.

The Minister also highlighted the worsening humanitarian suffering caused by the recent Houthi attacks, including the shelling of populated areas and displacement camps and the targeting of civilians as they fled their homes. She called for a stronger humanitarian response and greater support for the efforts of the government and local authorities to meet the needs of displaced and affected communities, provide essential services and ensure the delivery of humanitarian assistance.

Minister Al-Zouba expressed her appreciation for Germany’s support for the Yemeni government and for Yemen’s unity and sovereignty, as well as its condemnation of Houthi attacks. She also welcomed Germany’s humanitarian and development assistance and its contribution to European efforts to safeguard freedom of navigation in the Red Sea.

For his part, the German Foreign Minister reaffirmed his country’s support for the Yemeni government in the face of Houthi attacks. He warned that continued escalation would further undermine security and stability in Yemen and the wider region, and reiterated Germany’s commitment to strengthening its support for the Yemeni people and the legitimate government.

 Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Dr Afrah Al-Zouba discussed today, during a phone call with the Federal Republic of Germany’s Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul, bilateral relations between the two friendly countries and ways to further strengthen them, as well as the latest developments in Yemen and the repercussions of the Houthi escalation for …

"_jetpack_memberships_contains_paywalled_content":false
_jetpack_memberships_contains_paid_content":false
[74,72

post-39508","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","","category-breaking-news","category-yemen-news-2
["GET
