#Aden | Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Dr Afrah Al-Zouba discussed developments in Yemen and the region, as well as ways to strengthen bilateral cooperation, during a telephone call with UK Minister for the Middle East Stephen Doughty.

The two ministers discussed the ongoing attacks by the terrorist Houthi militia in Taiz Governorate, which is home to millions of civilians and displaced people, as well as attacks targeting civilian and vital infrastructure in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The Foreign Minister stressed that the intense, indiscriminate bombardment of residential neighbourhoods in Taiz, alongside the suffocating siege imposed by the militia, clearly exposes its terrorist nature and disregard for international humanitarian law.

She welcomed British support for the Yemeni government and expressed her hope for continued joint coordination to address the urgent needs arising from the Houthi militia’s terrorist escalation.

For his part, the UK Minister for the Middle East reaffirmed support for Yemen’s unity, stability and territorial integrity, and for the Yemeni state’s efforts to restore its institutions and extend its authority across the country.
