Yemen, Japan discuss implementation of Stockholm agreement

Yemen’s Ambassador to Japan Samir Khamis discussed on Friday with the Head of Japanese Foreign Relations at Japan’s Foreign Ministry Stockholm Agreement.

Ambassador Khamis confirmed that the government is serious in implementing the agreement it accepted as a choice for realizing peace, pointing to Houthi militia stubbornness and deception on implementing and breaching ceasefire.

He called on Japan to play its role with the international community to practice pressure on Houthis to implement the agreement in accordance with the three basic references; the GCC Initiative, the outcomes of the National Dialogue Conference and UN Resolution 2216.

For his part, the Japanese official expressed his country’s aspirations for ending the war in Yemen, working on realizing peace and normalizing life.

He confirmed continuous support of Japan to provide humanitarian aid to Yemen and working with the international community on implementing Stockholm agreement.
