President al-Alimi follows the developments of the tropical storm in the eastern governorates

His Excellency President Dr. Rashad al-Alimi, Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council, closely followed from his residence at the republican palace in the city of al-Ghaida the developments of the emergent tropical storm which hit the governorate of al-Mahra today, Monday, as cyclone of second degree coinciding with heavy rains upon different parts of the governorate.

His Excellency was briefed by the Governor of al-Mahra governorate Mohammed Ali Yasser on the ongoing efforts and measures to mitigate the effects of the tropical cyclone, heavy rainfalls and preliminary damages, fortunately, no human loses reported so far.

The President praised the constructive role of the authorities in charge and the emergency teams created by the local authority of al-Mahra governorate in responding to the tropical cyclone and the rainy atmosphere depression.

His Excellency reiterated thanks and gratitude to the brothers in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for their swift response and providing relief aids to the people who affected by the cyclone including emergency humanitarian interventions which will be distributed to the affected people starting from tomorrow, Tuesday, in coordination with the local authority in the governorate.

The President ordered to count the material damages and loses in the public and private-owned properties and to provide the people who have been affected and evacuated to temporary shelters with the necessary aids and care.

The Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council has continued to closely follow the developments of the tropical storm in the two governorates of Hadramout and Socotra and other regions which are subjected to the effects of the tropical storm.
