The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates condemns in the strongest terms the two terrorist attacks carried out by the Iranian regime-backed Houthi militia on the facilities of King Khalid International Airport and on a Saudia aircraft, which resulted in the martyrdom of three Saudi citizens and injuries to a number of citizens and residents. The attacks constitute a flagrant violation of the Kingdom’s sovereignty, the inviolability of civilian facilities, and the safety of civil aviation.
The Ministry reaffirms the Republic of Yemen’s full solidarity with the brotherly Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and its support for the Kingdom’s right to take legitimate measures to protect its security, sovereignty, citizens, and residents. It extends its sincere condolences to the families of the martyrs and wishes the injured a speedy recovery.
The Ministry stresses that targeting airports and civilian aircraft exposes the approach of a terrorist group that does not hesitate to terrorize innocent people and damage vital facilities in service of its criminal agenda and the interests of the Iranian regime. It affirms that expanding the scope of its attacks will not deter Yemenis from restoring their state, nor will it offer the militia’s coup project a way out of its crisis.
The Ministry affirms that continued Iranian support to the militia in the form of weapons, technology, and military expertise enables it to persist in its attacks and entrenches attempts to exploit Yemeni territory in service of the Iranian regime’s agenda. It underscores Yemen’s categorical rejection of the use of its land, airspace, and waters to threaten the security of its neighbors and the safety of international navigation and maritime corridors.
The Republic of Yemen calls on the Security Council and the international community to take decisive measures to halt these attacks, hold those responsible accountable, and cut off Iranian supply channels, in a manner that protects civilians and safeguards the security of Yemen and its neighbors and the safety of air navigation.
