The Ministry of Foreign and Expatriate Affairs of the Republic of Yemen expresses its strong condemnation of the continued blatant military interference by Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) and the terrorist organization Hezbollah in Yemen’s internal affairs, and of their role in supporting the Houthi terrorist militia and enabling it to continue its attacks against the Yemeni people and threaten regional and international security.
The Ministry notes that the announcement by the Ministry of Interior regarding the presence of twenty‑one foreign experts working with the Houthi militia, including fourteen experts from Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps and seven experts from the terrorist organization Hezbollah, reveals the scale and gravity of this interference. It goes beyond financing, arming, and training to include direct supervision, participation in planning and operational management, and the development of the militia’s military capabilities.
The Ministry stresses that this unlawful foreign military presence constitutes a flagrant violation of the sovereignty of the Republic of Yemen and the principles of international law. It affirms the responsibility of the Iranian regime for directing this intervention through members of the Revolutionary Guard Corps and Hezbollah, and for exploiting Yemeni territory in service of its regional projects at the expense of the security and stability of the Yemeni people.
The Ministry further affirms that the involvement of these elements in supporting the militia’s military operations has contributed to the killing of Yemenis and their forced displacement from their homes, while exacerbating the humanitarian suffering of the population, particularly in Taiz, where the continued siege and attacks on civilians further deepen the humanitarian crisis and threaten the basic conditions of life.
The Ministry warns that the danger posed by this intervention extends beyond Yemen’s borders and constitutes a direct threat to regional and international security, as well as to freedom of navigation and global trade in the southern Red Sea and the Bab al‑Mandab Strait. The provision of ballistic missiles, drones, and explosive‑laden fast boats to the militia, together with the expertise required to develop and employ these capabilities, increases the risks to shipping, vital maritime routes, and the interests of countries in the region and around the world.
The Ministry calls on the international community, foremost among them the United Nations Security Council, to assume their responsibilities by condemning these interventions and taking practical measures to halt the flow of weapons and military expertise to the Houthi militia, enforce relevant resolutions, and hold accountable the states, entities, and individuals involved in supporting these activities in accordance with international law, in a manner that protects Yemen’s sovereignty, safeguards the security of its people, and preserves regional and international peace and security.
