The Ambassador of Yemen to the friendly Republic of Cuba, Mohamed Saleh Nasher, reaffirmed our country’s position in support of Havana’s demands to end the economic, commercial, and financial embargo imposed on it, reiterating Yemen’s solidarity with the friendly Cuban people in facing its repercussions.
This came during Ambassador Nasher’s meeting with the Cuban Minister of Foreign Affairs, Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla, on the sidelines of a meeting held by the Minister with members of the diplomatic corps accredited to Havana, during which he reviewed his country’s report on the economic and living impacts resulting from the embargo imposed on Cuba.
During the meeting, Ambassador Nasher conveyed the greetings of the political leadership and the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates to the Cuban Minister, emphasizing the solidarity of the Republic of Yemen with the friendly Republic of Cuba and its support for its efforts aimed at ending the blockade. He noted that this position is reflected annually through Yemen’s vote in the United Nations General Assembly in favor of the resolution demanding the lifting of the embargo, stressing the firmness of Yemen’s stance rooted in historical relations and strong ties of friendship uniting the two countries and peoples.
For his part, the Cuban Foreign Minister expressed his appreciation for the position of the Republic of Yemen and its solidarity with his country, reiterating Cuba’s support for Yemen and its legitimate government, and asking Ambassador Nasher to convey his greetings to the political leadership and the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates.
