Foreign Minister Dr. Ahmed Awad bin Mubarak discussed today, through video communication, with the country representative of the United Nations for Women in Iraq and Yemen, Dina Zorba, ways to support and strengthen the national plan for the implementation of UN Resolution 1325 on women, security and peace.

Bin Mubarak praised the efforts made by the Commission on the Status of Women at the United Nations to contribute to the advancement of Yemeni women and their empowerment in various fields. He highly appreciated the important role played by the Norwegian government by providing support for the implementation of the national plan.

Bin Mubarak stressed that the implementation of the national plan comes within the framework of fulfilling our country’s obligations to enforce international resolutions, and in order to enhance multi-track efforts aimed at the meaningful participation of women and their inclusion in all peace-making and peace-building efforts in our country, which are among the main priorities of the Yemeni government.

He pointed out that the implementation stages of the national plan for the second half of this year require more requirements for the expected implementation steps on the ground.. He called on the United Nations to provide more support to push the plan towards progress and continue to support and implement programs, and build the capacities of institutions working in the justice system.
