Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council, Dr. Rashad al-Alimi, met with European ambassadors in Aden, urging the international community to take a stronger stance against the Houthi militia’s terrorist threats.
The meeting included Gabriel Munuera Viñals, Head of the European Union Delegation to Yemen, along with the French Ambassador, the Dutch Ambassador and the German Acting Ambassador.
President al-Alimi emphasized the need for the international community to take a stance proportionate to the Houthi threat, highlighting the devastating impact of their attacks on Yemen’s economy and global shipping.
He condemned the Houthis’ attempts to issue new currency outside the central bank’s framework, further destabilizing the economy.
The President called on European partners to take urgent decisions to designate the Houthis as a terrorist organization and implement concrete measures to isolate them.
He reaffirmed Yemen’s commitment to peace based on national, regional, and international agreements and supported the efforts of the UN envoy and affirmed commitment to facilitate humanitarian aid delivery across the country.
