Yemeni Ambassador to the U.S. Discusses Cooperation and Humanitarian Crisis with American Official

The Ambassador of Yemen to the United States of America, Jamila Ali Raja, met today with Ryan Schrom, Head of the Bureau for Humanitarian Assistance at the U.S. Department of State, to discuss areas of mutual cooperation, joint coordination, and the latest developments regarding the humanitarian situation in Yemen.

Ambassador Raja emphasized the vital importance of the partnership with the United States in supporting regional security and stability, as well as securing global trade routes. She commended the U.S. government’s role over past years in building and strengthening the capacity of national institutions, highlighting how technical support has enhanced the efficiency of joint coordination and operations.

Furthermore, the Ambassador outlined the magnitude of the humanitarian crisis in Yemen and the efforts undertaken by the government to address economic and service-related challenges to alleviate the suffering of citizens. She underscored the necessity of international community support for these initiatives to bolster aid delivered to Yemen.
