Ambassador Raja Discusses Support for Youth and Landmine Survivors with Two U.S. Organizations

Her Excellency Jamila Ali Raja, Ambassador of the Republic of Yemen to the United States of America, met today in Washington, D.C., with Elise Becker, Executive Director of the Marshall Legacy Institute, and Shane Rose, Executive Director of the Hadramout Foundation for Human Development – USA. The meeting reviewed the programs and initiatives of both organizations in Yemen and the United States, as well as their role in supporting landmine survivors, empowering youth, and enhancing educational opportunities.

The meeting touched upon the “Peace through Sport” program, which connects students in the United States and Hadramout Governorate, emphasizing the importance of expanding its scope to benefit members of the Yemeni diaspora in the United States.

Ambassador Raja reaffirmed the significance of strengthening cooperation in the educational and cultural fields, including supporting performances by the Yemeni Orchestra in the United States to highlight the richness and diversity of Yemeni culture.

Furthermore, she commended the ongoing cooperation and coordination between the Embassy and the respective organizations, serving the interests of Yemen and its people while building bridges of communication between Yemen and the United States of America.
