Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Dr. Afrah Al-Zouba said the renewed ballistic missile attacks by the terrorist Houthi militia on Mocha Port and Yemen’s western coast represent an attempt to strike one of the Yemeni people’s lifelines and weaken the state’s capabilities on one of its most effective fronts in safeguarding the security of the Red Sea and Bab al-Mandab and protecting maritime navigation.
In a post on X, Minister Al-Zouba said the militia’s persistence in targeting this front underscores the vital role played by the state and its forces in disrupting weapons-smuggling routes to the militia and securing maritime corridors.
She added: “Bab al-Mandab will not become a pressure tool in the hands of an armed terrorist group, nor will Yemen, its resources and its maritime routes remain hostage to an open-ended war that serves Iran’s regional agenda and threatens neighbouring countries.”
The Minister stressed that enabling the state, its naval forces and Coast Guard to carry out their duties in this vital area “is an investment in the security of Yemen, the region and international trade alike.”
