The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates of the Republic of Yemen welcomes the joint statement issued by the Foreign Ministers of the United Kingdom, Canada, Denmark, Finland, France, Iceland, Ireland, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Spain, and Sweden. The Ministry commends the statement’s rejection of Israeli settlement expansion policies and its call for measures to restrict trade linked to illegal settlements in the Occupied Palestinian Territory, in accordance with international law.
The Republic of Yemen stresses that this step represents vital support for efforts aimed at deterring the occupation’s settlement policies and its attempts to impose a status quo and alter the demographic and geographic character of the Occupied Palestinian Territory. Furthermore, Yemen calls upon the international community to assume its responsibilities and take decisive, concrete actions to stop Israeli settlement expansion and violations against the brotherly Palestinian people.
The Republic of Yemen reaffirms its firm stance in support of the Palestinian cause and the right of the brotherly Palestinian people to self-determination and the establishment of an independent state along the 1967 borders, with Jerusalem as its capital.
