Kuwait; we will continue our humanitarian, political commitment to Yemen

The State of Kuwait has confirmed it will continue its commitments towards Yemen in humanitarian, developmental and political fields until the country overcome bitter suffering and enjoy security, stability and realize its aspirations.

This came in a speech by the Foreign Minister of Kuwait Ahmad Nasser al-Sabbah during Yemen’s Donor Conference held Tuesday in Riyadh via Video Conference, called by Saudi Arabia and monitored by King Salman Relief and Humanitarian Activities Center and the Office of Coordinating Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA).

The Kuwaiti Foreign Minister reviewed his country’s support to Yemen in humanitarian and developmental domains for alleviating severe humanitarian conditions over bloody conflict and followed by Corona catastrophe badly affected Yemeni people’s health conditions.

He praised generous and continuous humanitarian efforts by Saudi Arabia led by King Salman bin Abdul- Aziz for supporting Yemen, renewing support to the UN General Secretary’s call on March 25, 2020 to all parties in Yemen to stop fighting immediately and focus on political settlement and exert efforts for facing Covid 19.

” We appreciate efforts of the Arab Coalition for supporting Legality in Yemen for making distanced views closer and reaching to permanent peaceful solutions to end (difficult) political situations in Yemen on the bases of GCC Initiative, the outcomes of the National Dialogue Conference and UN Resolution 2216,” he said.
