FM says gov’t is for peace that addresses the roots of the problem

ADEN – SABA
Yemen’s Foreign Minister said his government won’t save an effort to achieve a concrete peace that “addresses the root” of the Yemeni problem, the Houthi coup, and establishes a new phase that fulfills the Yemeni aspiration for a peaceful, dignified life.

In a meeting with the visiting UN Special Envoy Martin Griffiths, minister Ahmed Awadh bin Mubarak said the government would work earnestly in its national program of improving security and livelihood opportunities.

The UN envoy renewed his condolences to the victims and condemnation of the December 30 terrorist attack that was directed at the government as it arrived back home and landed in the Aden International Airport.

Griffiths said the attempt on the government was meant to undermine the peace and security Yemen is looking forward to.
