FM confers with GCC Secretary General over developments in Yemen

The Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Dr. Nayef al-Hajraf received here today, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Dr. Ahmed Awadh bin Mubarak.

Bin Mubarak detailed al-Hajraf on the latest developments about political, economic and military situations in Yemen including the ongoing military escalation and operations on the two governorates of Marib and Aljwaf and the terrorist attacks by Houthi militia on the cities in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

He cited the government’s efforts to reinvigorate the state’s institutions and normalize the situations, underlining the need for the GCC’s support and financial grants to push the development drive ahead and initiate the reconstruction campaign.

For his part al-Hajraf confirmed the GCC’s supportive stance in support of Yemen’s security, stability, unity and legitimate leadership. He stated that the GCC’s General Secretariat is working on preparation for international conference on reconstruction in Yemen to be hosted by the GCC.
