Arab parliament warns of continuous Houthi prevention of time-bomb tanker repair

CAIRO – SABA
The Arab Parliament has warned of the continued Houthi prevention of repairs to the dangerously decaying oil tanker of Safer in the Red Sea.

The parliament’s speaker Adel Al-Asoomi demanded the UN Security Council and the international community to take a prompt action to salvage the tanker especially after the satellites captured images showing that the abandoned vessel is moving off its place.

The tanker is laden with 1.4 million barrels of crude oil and is already going rusty due to disuse and lack of maintenance since 2015.
