President Hadi receives Sweden foreign minister

President Abd-Rabbu Mansour Hadi received Monday Swedish Foreign Minister Ann Linde, Swedish Envoy and Swedish Ambassador to Yemen.

He expressed appreciation to Swedish efforts supporting Yemen in different domains, including relief and humanitarian efforts.

He praised Sweden’s active role in the framework of European Union and support to Yemen and its constitutional legitimacy and for sponsoring peace talks in Stockholm, as well as appointing especial envoy to Yemen.

President Hadi reviewed latest developments in Yemen and suffering of Yemeni people over Houthi militia triggered war, besieging cities and targeting displaced people camps in Marib.

” That militia and their supporters do not believe in coexistence and peace and are only good in the language of weapons,” said president, confirming that dialogue experiences with Houthis, including Stockholm talks, confirmed the rebel militia’s stubbornness and used the ceasefire to destabilize international maritime by bombed boats and others violations.
He also pointed out to Iranian negative role supporting Houthi militia for rejecting stop the war.

He confirmed keenness on peace and making concessions for avoiding bloodshed, which were rejected by Houthi militia saying: ” Our hands are still extended and always call for stopping the war and realizing peace for the interest of Yemeni people.”

He praised Sweden’s efforts for realizing peace in Yemen and welcomed its foreign minister’s visit to some liberated provinces.

For her part, the Swedish minister expressed pleasure for this meeting, which comes in the framework of her country’s leaders and people’s care in Yemen, appreciating efforts exerted by President Hadi for stopping the war and the crisis Yemen faces.

She confirmed her country’s support to Yemen and its constitutional legitimacy, pointing out to humanitarian efforts of her country in Yemen and providing general support and confirmed also her country’s continuous help for holding donor conferences for supporting Yemen.
