Bin Mubarak, Huitfeldt discuss political solution prospects in Yemen

Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Dr. Ahmed Awadh Bin Mubarak conferred today here with the Chair of the Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs and Defense in the Norwegian Parliament Annken Huitfeldt over the developments of the peace process in Yemen and the prospects of the political settlement.

He explained the Yemeni government’s efforts to make peace and the concessions it has offered to push peace. He blamed Houthi militia for blocking the UN-led efforts and international good offices aimed to reach political settlement to end the war, re-establish security, stability and put an end of the humanitarian crisis.

Bin Mubarak stated that Houthi militia’s correlation with the Iranian spoiler agendas in the region has largely contributed to make the political scene in Yemen further complicated, spoiled all efforts have been made over the past years to bring the conflict to its end peacefully.

He touched upon the Houthi militia’s ongoing military operations on Marib governorate, using different weapons including ballistic missiles. He also cited Houthi militia’s grave valuations against civilians, women and children who are being recruited by the militia and engaged in front-line battles.

The Norwegian lawmaker confirmed her country’s support for the peace process in Yemen and Yemen’s unity, security and stability.
