Government’s source calls on the UN to move to stop Houthis’ violations of the truce

An official source of the Yemeni government called on the UN and its special envoy to Yemen to act seriously and genuinely to deter the constantly and increasingly growing violations and breaches by Houthi militias of the UN-brokered truce since the first moment of its implementation.

The source noted the Houthis’ increasing flagrant attacks which culminated with targeting the headquarters of Taiz Security Administration by drones attacks on Wednesday. The assault resulted in injuring 10 persons among them civilians, material damages and causing panic among the children and families who went to the neighboring park to enjoy the Eid Holiday.

The source told the Yemeni Agency (Saba) the Houthis’ recurrent breaches of the UN-sponsored truce is a real test for the UN’s and International Community’s credibility about pressuring the Houthi militias to respond to the peace efforts.

The source stated that the continuation of the Houthis’ terrorist attacks, disrespecting the UN-sponsored humanitarian truce since the first moment of taking its effects, the militia’s failure to fulfill its obligations under the truce agreement, first and foremost lifting the blockade on Taiz all represent the militia’s approach and behavior and its backers’ policy aimed to undermine chances for peace and political settlement to the Yemeni crisis.
