Al-Wahishi meets Russian President’s envoy to the Middle East

Yemeni Ambassador to Moscow Dr. Ahmed Al-Wahishi met with the Russian President’s Special Envoy for the Middle East and Africa, Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bagdanov. During the meeting, Al-Wuhayshi affirmed the government’s commitment to the option of a just and comprehensive peace, according to the terms of reference for resolving the Yemeni crisis agreed upon.

He referred to the announcement by the United Nations Special Envoy to Yemen, Hans Grundberg, to extend the truce for two additional months under the agreement sponsored by the United Nations, explaining that the Leadership Council and the legitimate government have fulfilled all the provisions of the truce, at the forefront of which is the opening of the ports of Hodeidah and the resumption of commercial flights through Sana’a International Airport.

Al-Wuhayshi explained that the government is continuing its efforts to establish peace in light of the renewal of the truce, in order to prepare the atmosphere for a comprehensive settlement that meets the aspirations of all Yemenis, and guarantees the security of neighboring countries and international shipping lines.
