Minister of Interior Maj. General Ibrahim Haidan held discussions today, Wednesday, with the Acting-Coordinator for Counter-Terrorism at the US Department of State Christopher Lindbergh , Deputy of the Special Envoy of the International Alliance to defeat (ISIS) Ian McCray and the American Ambassador to the Republic of Yemen Steven Fagin.
The talks focused on the ongoing coordination between the two countries about counter- terrorist organizations.
General Haidan appreciated the US administration’ efforts and coordination with Yemen about countering the terrorist organization and the protection of the international navigation maritime from the terrorist threats of Houthi militias, weapons smuggling which used by the terrorist organizations to threaten peace and the State’s institutions.
The Minister highlighted the need for training the Ministry’s staffs about fighting terrorism and the terrorist organizations.
The American officials reiterated the continuation of their administration’ security collaboration and coordination with Yemen to support Yemen’s security and stability.
