President al-Alimi confers with US Secretary of State over chances to revive peace in Yemen

His Excellency President Dr. Rashad al-Alimi, Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council, along with the Member of the Council Aidarous al-Zubaidi held talks today, Monday, in New York with the Secretary of the States of the United States Antony Blinken over the bilateral relations between the two friendly countries.

The discussions which held on the sideline of the UN General Assembly’s sessions covered a number of topical issues including the developments of the Yemeni situations, the mediation good offices led by the brothers in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Sultanate of Oman to renew the truce and launch an inclusive political process guided by the United Nations.

President al-Alimi praised the robust bilateral relations between the Republic of Yemen and the United States, deeply appreciating the American supportive stance in support of the constitutional legitimacy in Yemen at different international forums.

His Excellency also highly valued the American humanitarian interventions to alleviate the Yemeni peoples’ suffering which further exacerbated by the Houthi militias’ terrorist attacks on the oil facilities and international marine shipping lines.

The US Secretary of State expressed Washington’s support for the Presidential Leadership Council, stressing the importance of the coherent unity of the Presidential Council to reach a comprehensive and fair peace satisfies the aspirations of the all Yemenis.

Mr. Blinken praised the constructive dealing of the Presidential Council and the Government with the efforts aiming to renew the truce, revive the peace process in Yemen.
