Chairman, Members of Presidential Leadership Council meet with Saudi Defense Minister

His Excellency President Dr. Rashad al-Alimi, Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council (PLC) met today, Wednesday, with His Royal Highness Prince Khalid bin Salman Minister of Defense in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA), with the presence of the PLC’s members Aidarous al-Zubaidi, Tariq Saleh, Abdurhman al-Mahrami, Dr. Abdullah al-Alimi, Othman Mujalli and Faraj al-Bahssani.

The meeting intended to discuss the latest developments in the Yemeni national arena, joint cooperation and coordination between the two sides about the road map proposed by the brothers in the KSA to the revive peace process and establish peace in our country.

The Chairman and members of the PLC updated the Saudi Minister on the developments of the Yemeni situation and prospects for resuming the peace process amid the persisting intransigence by Houthi militias, grave violations of human rights and military escalation in different fronts.

President al-Alim and the PLC’s members confirmed their full support for the Saudi good offices to renew the truce, allay the Yemeni people’s suffering and launch an inclusive political process that ensures restoring the state’s institutions, security, stability and development in the country.

President al-Alim highly praised the KSA’s steady and supportive stance in support of the Yemeni people and its political leadership throughout different stages and circumstances, deeply appreciating the Kingdom’s keenness to put an end of the Yemeni peoples’ ordeal that Iran-backed Houthi militias brought about.

His Royal Highness Prince Khalid reiterated the Kingdom’s commitment to support the PLC, encourage the Yemeni parties to reach a comprehensive and sustainable political solution to the Yemeni crisis guided by the United Nations to achieve peace, security, stability and development in Yemen.
