Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Dr. Afrah Al-Zouba, discussed today with the Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to Yemen, Thomas Schneider, bilateral relations between the two friendly nations and ways to advance them and enhance cooperation in the humanitarian and development sectors.
The meeting also touched upon the latest developments in Yemen and the region, as well as ongoing efforts to address them, amidst the continued military escalation by the Iranian-backed terrorist Houthi militia, its targeting of commercial vessels, and its threat to international navigation security and global trade in the Red Sea, the Gulf of Aden, and the Bab al-Mandab Strait.
Minister Al-Zouba expressed the Republic of Yemen’s appreciation for the support provided by the German government in the fields of development, institution-building, food security, healthcare, water, and education. She emphasized the government’s keenness to expand this partnership to support recovery efforts and improve public services.
For his part, the German Ambassador reaffirmed his government’s commitment to continuing cooperation with Yemen in the humanitarian and development fields, and to supporting efforts aimed at achieving security and stability.
