Prime Minister meets with UNOPS delegation

His Excellency President Dr. al-Alimi, Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council (PLC) received today, Tuesday, the Chargé d’ Affaires of the United States Embassy in the Republic of Yemen Jonathan Pecha.

Yemeni-American distinguished bilateral relations and cooperation was key focus of the conversations.
President al-Alimi greatly valued the historic partnership with the United States, highly appreciating its leading role in supporting the internationally recognized Yemeni leadership and government, combating terrorism and protecting regional and international security.

He also expressed his own and the members of the PLC’s gratitude for Washington’s firm stance against the Houthi militias and its maximum pressure on the Iranian regime, considering this part of protecting the rules-based international order.

The President addressed the latest developments in the Yemeni national arena, including the formation of a new government based on competence and professional track record, with good representation of women and youth.

He also cited the noticeable improvement in basic services, regular payment of salaries, addressing the electricity issue, ending the militarization of cities and unifying security and military decisions under the Ministries of Defense and Interior.

The President highlighted the strategic partnership with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and its pivotal role in supporting Yemeni legitimacy, protecting state institutions and advancing the paths of calm, peace, recovery and stability.

The Chairman of the PLC reiterated the Council’s and the government’s commitment to a just and lasting peace that ends the war and does not legitimize weapons outside the state.
