Foreign Ministry Denounces Iran’s Attack on U.S. Embassy in Riyadh

The Yemen Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed its strongest condemnation and denunciation of the brazen Iranian attack targeting the United States Embassy in Riyadh, describing it as a flagrant violation of the sovereignty of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and a clear breach of relevant international norms and conventions.

In a statement issued Tuesday, the ministry affirmed that targeting diplomatic premises constitutes an explicit violation of the Geneva Conventions and the Vienna Conventions on Diplomatic and Consular Relations, as well as established principles of international law that guarantee the full inviolability of diplomatic missions and their personnel under all circumstances.

The ministry reiterated its firm condemnation of the repeated Iranian attacks that have targeted civilian objects and vital facilities in the Kingdom of Bahrain, the State of Kuwait, the State of Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, and the Sultanate of Oman. It said these actions reflect a systematic and aggressive pattern aimed at undermining the security and stability of the region and eroding international peace and security.

The Foreign Ministry reaffirmed the Republic of Yemen’s full solidarity with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and other sisterly states, and its support for their inherent right to take all necessary measures to safeguard their security, sovereignty, and the safety of their citizens and residents, in accordance with international law and the Charter of the United Nations.

It also commended the high level of efficiency and readiness demonstrated by the armed forces and air defense units in Saudi Arabia and other affected states, noting their success in confronting the attacks and protecting civilian infrastructure and vital installations.

The ministry warned that the continuation of Iran’s aggressive conduct—alongside its support, arming, and financing of cross-border militias, foremost among them the Houthi terrorist militia—poses a direct threat to regional security and international maritime corridors, calling for a firm collective stance to put an end to such destabilizing behavior.
